We Are Artists, Lecturers & Performers

From time to time, members of our community perform or display their art work. Such events will be posted here.

If you have an artistic endeavor you’d like to share, please send  a flyer and/or summary to Laura and ask me to post it on the CJC website. Please note, only events in which CJC members are participating will be posted.

CJC member Linda Bea Miller is presenting her newest art at the Pescadero Fun Fair & Art Show tomorrow and Sunday (Aug 17-18) from 10-6pm at the IDES Hall in Pescadero. The show opens tonight at 7-9 pm. Linda Bea would be happy to see you!

“The Isaac Newton You Never Heard About” – Thursday, Aug 22, 6:30pm

CJC member Philip Chapnick will share some of the fascinating and lesser-known aspects of the life of the iconic scientist who ushered in the Scientific Revolution. You’ll learn about Newton’s alchemical research, his apostate theology, and some of the complex and human aspects of his life.

The program is at 7pm at the Odd Fellows Hall in Half Moon Bay (526 Main Street). Doors will open at 6:30pm for those who want to view the collection on display.

The talk is free but as a bonus, everyone who donates at least $10 to the Odd Fellows that evening – to support their good work – will be entered into a Lucky Draw at the end of the evening with prizes from the collection of Newtonian memorabilia. For more info, email Philip.
