Rabbi Serena Eisenberg is the Northern California Director of the American Jewish Committee since February 2018, and is the immediate past president of the Northern California Board of Rabbis. She spent over a decade as the executive director of Hillel Foundations at Stanford University and Brown University, including a sabbatical in Israel as a Jerusalem Fellow at the Mandel Leadership Institute. She was ordained by the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in 2002, where she studied as a Wexner Graduate Fellow. Before entering the rabbinate, she worked as an advocate and child-welfare ombudsman in a number of settings, including the Bronx Family Court and the Alameda County Department of Social Services. She earned a JD/MSW from UC Berkeley in 1993.
