The Ruach Havurah at CJC is for people who would like to learn, explore and celebrate the spiritual aspects of their Judaism. Ruach Havurah gatherings may include prayer, meditation, spiritual direction, rituals, celebration and learning.

Our gatherings are experiential in nature, and our goals are to deepen our spirituality, learn more about Jewish spirituality, and to cultivate a deeper sense of connection to each other. Havurah gatherings may include prayer, meditation, spiritual direction, rituals, celebration and learning.

We are a peer-led group open to any interested adults.

How do we pray? Do we thank God? Do we ask God for stuff? How do we move past our brains and find our hearts? How do we listen and how do we hear? What is davening, and what is ecstatic prayer? How is our prayer different in English vs Hebrew?
We will be exploring these and other questions, writing our own prayers, and using meditative/contemplative activity to discover what that prayer will be for/about.

Please bring a vegetarian dish to share, as well as an offering for our altar that symbolizes your prayer practice.
Please also bring a special notebook or journal with you that we will be using as your "prayer journal".

  through the Palo Alto JCC and Lehrhaus Judaica that will begin in February.
